Ever been that one person that was the cause of failing an Immortal or Insanity run? The Immortal/Insanity achievements being used as the measuring tool of progression is a huge mistake on Blizzard's part. This design inevitably creates hatred/disappointment all aimed at one (or sometimes a few) individual(s). There are better ways to determine guild progression. And Blizzard has already used two other methods that didn't result in such catastrophe.

Observer Mode

Not only would this feature be useful and entertaining for raid leading purposes, but for anyone to be allowed to observe any player doing any activity within WoW. This has a countless number of uses. Whether you're teaching somebody how to beat Captain Skyshatter or simply just wanting to see how overpowered ret paladins really are.

Death of the Pure Class

Bring the player, not the class. This was the overall direction they wanted to take World of Warcraft (at least in PvE) with Wrath of the Lich King. While all classes are different and that's what makes the game interesting, the motto, "Bring the player, not the class", was all too successful and the consequences are quickly evident. It's made hybrid classes "the thing to be" and left many pure classes (rogues, mages, hunters, warlocks) with the short end of the stick.
