Useful Grid Debuffs - Icecrown

The following are debuffs which I’ve added to my Grid for various Icecrown fights. Many of these I don’t need to perform my role (ie. Infest on Lich King), but they’re helpful for overall awareness, and for when I play alts. A lot of them aren’t necessary at all, and I’ve just included them for completeness.

To add these, type /grid config, go into Status -> Auras, type the name under ‘Add new Debuff’, and hit Enter.
Then, go to Frame -> Center Icon, and check each debuff name.

Download GridStatusRaidDebuff and it has all of that done for you w/o having to manually put it in.  You can pick which Debuffs you want to show and don’t want.

It may be easier to get an add-on like that, but personally I like to add them in myself. I like to know and understand what I’m adding to my grid and casa’s list is nice for remembering the specific abilities and their names per fight.

Doesn’t GridRaidStatusDebuff do this for you?  I know as ICC was unlocking, I would get like 5-10 updates per week to this mod and stuff was always on Grid for me.

Along these lines, I also found it very useful to use Power Auras to draw sprites on my screen when I got Infest, because I just wasn’t hearing it on vent (3am progression).  The later it got, the larger the green skull and crossbones on my screen got so I wouldn’t miss it.  Before then, I only used power auras to know when trinkets / procs were active to maximize DPS.

I too use GridStatusRaidDebuff, the authors are usually pretty good about adding all the important debuffs within the first week the content is released. But if you want to add them manually here are a few others you didn’t mention that I find very useful as a healer (I just used the names of the spells as recorded in WoL, so hopefully they are correct):

Lady Deathwhisper
Death and Decay

Festergut
Vile Gas
Gastric Bloat

Rotface
Ooze Flood

Blood-Queen Lana’thel
Pact of the Darkfallen

Bellixia

Blood Elf
Paladin

One really cool thing about GridStatusRaidDebuff is that if you go to the Status——>  Raid Debuff there is a little button you can click on that says DETECT new Debuff.  By clicking on this, it will add all of the new debuffs to the addon.  I did this the first week of ICC and on new bosses and didn’t have to manually add them to grid.  It’s really cool—especially if you are using Grid Icon Bar because you can remove some from the raid debuff addon and add them to seperate icon bar icons (or add your other buffs you want to track to side icons). :)

(note: when you have the auto-detect turned on you will definitely want to know how to disable some debuffs. :)  This picks up EVERYTHING so it can cause some major spam.  BUT, how else will you be able to see who is taking which teleporter in icc? lol)

Here are two examples:
(1 of how to activate debuff detection, 1 of grid icon bar)
